I resisted buying this book when it first came out because I
am always a little wary when there is a hype around a new book. I was right to
be wary as for the first part of the book, I did not enjoy the narration, and
by that I mean that I found Meira annoying. Also, a few parts of the plot were
a bit predictable. However, the world-building made this book a lot better and
I got into the book more towards the end. I will be continuing with this
series, though I hope there is an improvement.
